NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 12, 2007)—Award-winning and platinum-selling Word recording artist Point of Grace announces its spring 2008 “POINT OF GRACE/SELAH ALL THE WORLD” TOUR with special guest Michael Passons (formerly of Avalon). Launching February 13 in Oklahoma City and visiting 20 cities across the United States through May 31, the Point Of Grace headline tour will support their critically acclaimed, chart topping project, How You Live.
As Point Of Grace’s 11th studio project, How You Live is the first new studio release in nearly three years from the most notable and successful female group in Christian music history. The project launched at the top of the sales charts and has maintained top positions on radio and retail charts for over 10 weeks, since its release.
On the How You Live collection, Shelley Breen, Leigh Cappillino, Denise Jones and Heather Payne deliver a compelling collection of songs that invite listeners to take account of their purpose, examine their priorities and take stock of their lives.
Having recently traveled abroad, seeing the poverty first hand and being touched by the deep need, the members of the group have become personally involved in the cause of poverty in our world and have chosen to use their voices to make a difference in every way that they can. The 2008 spring tour will be sponsored by Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, physical, economic and social poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Founded by Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 900,000 children in 24 countries.
The “All The World” Tour will visit 20 cities nationwide making stops in major markets including Oklahoma City, Omaha, Houston, Minneapolis and Sioux Falls. With two legendary groups showcased each evening, the 2008 tour will be one of the most highly-anticipated spring tours for Christian music fans nationwide.
For 15 years, Point Of Grace has built a successful career delivering songs of substance. While their lovely voices and soaring harmonies entertained, their songs illuminated the complexities of the human spirit and spurred us toward closer relationships with each other and our God. In the process, they’ve taken the church by storm, selling five million albums, winning 8 Dove Awards, receiving two Grammy nods and garnering two platinum and five gold records as well as 24 consecutive No. 1 singles.
